How to Wash Your Cast Iron Product

How do I clean my cast iron product?

There are few methods you can use to clean cast iron cookware without compromising their seasoning. Here are a few we recommend:

*Use a soft rubber pan scraper and warm water to remove any food debris from the surface of the pan. Then clean any remaning residue with a sponge or rubber scrub brush and dish gentle soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely with a lint-free cloth or paper towel.

*Add one cup kosher salt to your warm cast iron pan. With a kitchen towel, gently scour the salt on the cooking surface to remove stubborn food particles. Discard the salt, rinse your cast iron cookware, and dry thoroughly with a lint-free cloth or paper towel.

*If there is not much food debris on your pan, simply pour a bit of vegetable oil onto the cooking surface. Then take a paper towel or lint-free rag and wipe out any food pieces. Rub any excess oil into the surface of your pan.

General Tips:
*NEVER use harsh chemicals to clean cast iron cookware, as they can strip seasoning layers and damage the cooking surface.
*Do not let your cast iron pan soak in water in the sink, as this can cause it to rust.
*To prevent rust and rejuvinate your pan's nonstick properties, rub one tablespoon of vegetable oil or lard onto yoru cast iron and gently heat it to allow the pan to absorb the oil in between uses.
